About Me

Hello from sunny Alberta Canada.

I teach grade 9-12 Social Studies at a small school on the edge of Calgary. We are situated in the foothills and I have a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains out my classroom window. My undergrad is from York University in Toronto and my teaching degree is from LeMoyne College in Syracuse NY. I have been teaching since 1993, initially in a rural setting and now in the suburbs of Calgary.
My undergrad focused on economics, political science and American history and I love to teach Social Studies because in most courses it encompasses all three subjects.
I love the outdoors and I try to spend as much time enjoying nature as possible, I snowmobile (sled) in the backcountry, mostly in Revelstoke BC, and enjoy spending time there with good friends.
I coach Sr Varsity Football and while our school is small our team has tremendous spirit and we love to play and win as underdogs.
I am a news junkie and am on Drudge Report all the time.
Our school is becoming technology focused, this coming year we will have all of our grade 9 and 10 students in a one to one laptop/tablet learning environment. I have a limited background in technology and I am taking the M.E.T. program to try and stay ahead of the curve.
I look forward to watching, listening and learning while I navigate myself through this program.
